Dean Frey has put together an incredible site dedicated to the music of Heitor Villa-Lobos. He is a music-lover that lives in Red Deer, Alberta and also happens to be the director of the library there. The quartet is mentioned on the site, as we will play the first Villa-Lobos quartet during our upcoming tour in and around Montréal. Here’s the article:
QStG ‘en résidence’ au Musée régional de Rimouski
Last Monday marked the launch of an exciting collaboration between the quatuor and the Musée régional de Rimouski for the upcoming season. Each of our three programs are oriented around current exhibitions, and each concert will be preceded at 7:30 by an interactive presentation by the museum’s Contemporary Art Curator Bernard Lamarche. Here’s more info on the museum’s website:

L’île à la mer: le Quatuor Saint-Germain part pour une tournée montréalaise
The quartet is heading to Montréal to participate in the project ‘l’Île à la mer’, an initiative of the Ville de Montréal that involves a dozen cultural organizations from Eastern Québec and the Magdalen Islands. We’ll play six concerts in various halls, including the lovely Chapelle de Bon Pasteur in downtown Montréal. It is our pleasure to have as our special guest the concert accordionist Joseph Petric, who will be featured in Five Tango Sensations of Piazzola and Andrew MacDonald’s angular and wonderful Winds of Thera. As well, Mozart’s Glass Harmonica quartet and the first Villa-Lobos quartet are on the programs. For more info, check out this page on the site of the Ville de Montréal. Hope to see you there !
