Here’s the poster for our concerts at the end of the month – an ambitious programme around the amazing 4th quartet of Bartok and a compelling work by Canadian Christos Hatzis, his first quartet, entitled ‘The Awakening’. The composer will be with us via Skype Sunday afternoon to discuss the piece, which is performed with a prepared tape track that juxtaposes Aboriginal throat singers with chordal clusters and plaintive locomotive calls. We’ve added ‘Fratres’ of Arvo Pärt to complete the programme. Come be with us the 22 or 24th of January at the Musée régional de Rimouski. QStG.
